Rear Compartment Access, Function
Shown at Left Front Seat:
Function requirements
- Driver door or passenger door opened
- No undervoltage or overvoltage
- Backrest adjustment normalizing performed
Function
The driver/front passenger seat can be moved electrically into the front stop position in order to facilitate access to the rear boxes in the rear compartment. When this is done, the backrest is also moved into the front stop and the head restraint lowered.
Moving and folding front seat forward (example driver seat)
The pressed left rear compartment access switch (S137) is read in by the left front seat adjustment with memory control module (N32/1)
The following are then actuated simultaneously:
- Forward/back motor (27m1)
- Head restraint raise/lower motor (M27m4)
- Backrest forward/back motor (M27m5)
The motors continue to be operated until the head restraint, backrest and forward/back adjustment have reached the end stops.
Moving and folding front seat back (example driver seat)
This procedure is performed in the same way to moving and folding seat forward, by pressing the left rear compartment access switch (S137). When this is done, seat and backrest are moved into the starting position and the head restraint is then moved into its previous position.
NOTE: The forward/back adjustment for providing access to the rear compartment is moved into the relevant end position at twice the speed.
Abort conditions (example driver seat)
- Pressing a switch of the left seat adjustment switch group (S91/2)
- Hall sensor of forward-back/backrest adjustment and head restraint detected as faulty
- Circuit 15 ON and vehicle speed v ≥ 5 km/h
- Left rear compartment access switch (S137) pressed once again.
