Door Contact Switch, Location/Purpose/Design/Function






Location
The state of the vehicle doors (open, closed) are sensed in the form of an electrical signal by the door contact switches.

Design
The door contacts are openers. (When the doors are closed the door contacts are open)

Function
When a door is opened the associated door contact switch (S17/3, S17/4) connects ground to the corresponding input of the rear SAM control module (N10/8).

The rear SAM control module (N10/8) transmits the message of the door status to the passenger compartment CAN bus.
