Switch Entry/Exit Lamps on/Off, Function

Switch Entry/Exit Lamps On/Off, Function

Networking:

Function requirements:
- The overhead control panel control module (N70) has detected "night" through the lights on sensor (B32/1).
- Door contact ON and OFF switch (N70s3) in ON position
- no undervoltage or overvoltage

NOTE: In general only entry/exit lamps of opened doors are actuated!

Switching entry/exit lamps on:
- An entry/exit lamp is switched on as soon as the appropriate door is opened.

Switching entry/exit lamps off:
- The entry/exit lamp is switched off if the appropriate door is closed.
- The lamp is automatically switched off if the door remains open for more than 5 minutes.

Switching on again after automatic switch-off
The on period is extended or started once again if:
- a change of status occurs at any door contact switch (S17/3,S17/4),
- circuit 15 is switched on,
- the vehicle is locked or unlocked.

Actuation
The entry/exit lamps are actuated by the relevant door control module (N69/1, N69/2).

The door control modules require the following CAN messages for this purpose:
- The ambient intensity (night/day); this message is generated with the data of the lights on sensor (B32/1) in the overhead control panel (N70).
- The status of the door contact switches (S17/3, S17/4). All door contact switches are read in by the rear SAM control module (N10/8).
- The unlocking and locking signal and the status of circuit 15 are transmitted by the EIS control module N73) over the CAN.

NOTE:
- If a fault exists at the lights on sensor (B32/1) the lamps are operated as if night detected.
- The entry/exit lamps are not dependent on the setting of the automatic headlamp control in the instrument cluster (A1)!
