Low-Beams Actuation, Function

Low-Beams Actuation, Function

Operational sequence
1 Basic prerequisite:
- The exterior lamp switch (S1) is set to parking light:
- the parking lamp in the headlamp units,
- the bulbs in the taillamps and license plate lamps (E19/1 and E19/2) are actuated.

2 The exterior lamp switch (S1) is switched to low beams position and signals "headlamp ON" to the left SAM control module (N10/10).
3 The left front SAM control module registers the new switching situation, actuates the low beams lamp (E2e2) in the right-hand lamp unit and simultaneously sends the signal "headlamp ON" to the right front SAM control module (N10/11) via the data bus (1).
4 The right SAM control module (N10/11) actuates the low beams (E1e2) in the left headlamp unit.

NOTE: The parking lamp in the left and right headlamp unit is still actuated when the headlamp is switched on. Actuating the instrument cluster (A1) with the "headlamp ON" signal triggers an acoustic warning signal if the electronic key has been removed and the driver's door is open.
