GF00.20-P-2008R Remaining Time, Function
GF00.20-P-2008R Remaining Time, Function
- MODEL 230 up to model year 08/YoM 07
The remaining time is the time which is displayed in vehicles with low annual mileage on reaching the warning threshold. This is dependent on the startup time.
Startup time
The startup time refers to the service interval in days immediately following the oil change
The startup time is not dependent on the driving conditions or any possible oil refills.
The startup time is 730 days ( (J)365 days).
The startup time is automatically reset to its initial value by the oil change reset following each oil change. The startup time is an internal operand, and cannot be displayed in the instrument cluster (A1). The startup time can only be displayed with Star Diagnosis.
Remaining time
The remaining time is displayed in the instrument cluster (A1) under the following conditions.
The remaining time is the time until the next service is due.
The remaining time only plays a part in vehicles with low annual mileage. (The remaining distance is therefore usually displayed.)
The remaining time is dependent:
- on the startup time
- on the driving conditions
However, oil refills do not affect the remaining time.
Via these dependencies, ASSYST is also monitored in the case of vehicles with low annual mileage. Depending on evaluation, the service interval in the case of these vehicles is between one and two years.
Warning threshold (in days)
A warning threshold of between five and 30 days, with an increment of one day, can be set for the remaining time using the Star Diagnosis tool. The basic setting is 30 days x ((J) 10 days).
Display of the remaining time
The remaining time is only basically displayed when the condition:
remaining time (in days) x 40 < remaining distance (remaining distance in kilometers) or
remaining time (in days) x 20 < remaining distance (remaining distance in miles)
has been met and the warning threshold has been reached.
The remaining time is then displayed:
- automatically after reaching the warning threshold, after the starter switch has been moved to position "2" or the engine has been started
The service symbol and the text
"SERVICE A/B IN xxx DAYS" are displayed for 10 s.
- automatically if the remaining time has expired, after the starter switch has been moved to position "2" or driving operation:
The service symbol and the text
"PERFORM SERVICE A/B" are displayed for 10 s.
- automatically after expiration of the remaining time, after the starter switch has been moved to position "2" or the engine has been started :
The service symbol and the text
"SERVICE A/B EXCEEDED BY xxx DAYS " are displayed.
A brief warning tone is additionally sounded.
- at the request of the driver. The 10-second display described above then occurs.
The display is carried out with a resolution of one day.
It can be suppressed by actuating the reset button on the instrument cluster (A1).
If ASSYST is missing measurement values, e.g. due to the failure of a sensor, it switches over to stored substitute values. A corresponding entry is made in the diagnostic trouble code memory of the relevant control unit.
If the operating voltage fails, the data are retained. However, times without operating voltage (e.g. with the battery disconnected) are not recorded, but can be taken into consideration retrospectively with Star Diagnosis.
