CD changer mode
The CD player with changer (A2/6) is controlled by the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3). Only audio CDs with the corresponding file format may be used as media in the CD player with changer (A2/6).

In combination with the CD player with changer (A2/6), the following functions are available:
^ "Scan" function
The track of a CD or the 1st track of each CD in the entire magazine are played for t = 8 seconds. After this has been run through completely, the scan function is automatically terminated.
^ "Random" function
All the titles on a CD or the entire CD magazine are played in accordance with the random principle.
^ "Repeat" function
Alternatively a title, a CD or the entire CD magazine is repeated.
^ Fast forward and reverse (music search)
The music played is audible during fast forward and reverse. Certain parts of a title can therefore be specifically played or skipped.

CD title allocation, function
Each CD contains a fixed table of contents (TOC entry). As a result, the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) recognizes the particular CD and is able to automatically name it after the one-time user allocation of the title (even if the CD is subsequently inserted in another CD magazine).

The table of contents (TOC record) additionally contains information regarding the number of tracks on a CD and its total playing time.
