Locking With Remote Control Key, Function

Locking With Remote Control Key, Function

Operating Central Locking (CL) With Remote Control Key, Function:

When the "Unlock vehicle" button is pressed, the remote control key (A8/1) sends a radio and infrared signal to the relevant receivers in the vehicle. These receive the signal and transmit its content in the form of a CAN message to the EIS [EZS] control module (N73). The EIS control module (N73) checks the access authorization of the remote control key (A8/1).

If the access authorization is valid, the EIS control module (N73) then sends the "Lock" command via the passenger compartment CAN.

The pneumatic control module with combined functions (A37) receives the command and activates the pneumatic locking:
- of the door locks
- of the fuel filler flap
- of the trunk lid
- of the glove compartment
- of the right and left rear box
- of the center console stowage compartment

In addition, the following interior switches are set to inactive:
- interior CL open switch (S6/5s2)
- Interior CL close and ATA function display switch (S6/5s3)
- remote trunk release switch (S15)

If the remote control key (A8/1) is inserted into the EIS control module (N73) after the vehicle is locked, the interior switches are again activated.

The central locking is then in the same status as after locking the vehicle with the interior CL close and ATA function display switch (S6/5s3).

However, the vehicle can only be unlocked again by opening a door.
