Automatic Locking
Automatic Locking, Function
Networking of Components:
Function requirements
- Vehicle speed more than 15 km/h.
- Automatic locking in instrument cluster (A1) activated.
Function sequence
The "Automatic locking" function locks the vehicle centrally, with the exception of the fuel filler flap, as soon as the vehicle speed exceeds the threshold of approx. 15 km/h.
The instrument cluster (A1) transmits the vehicle speed signal via the passenger compartment CAN to the pneumatic control module with combined functions (A37). The pneumatic control module with combined functions (A37) thereupon locks the doors and trunk lid pneumatically.
The vehicle can be unlocked again by opening a door from the inside or with the interior CL open switch (S6/5s2) as soon as the vehicle speed is below the threshold.
The left door contact switch (S17/3) and right door contact switch (S17/4) are evaluated by the rear SAM control module (N10/8) for this purpose.
This information is supplied to the pneumatic control module with combined functions (A37) via the passenger compartment CAN and the corresponding pneumatic elements are operated. If the vehicle is unlocked with the interior CL open switch (S6/5s2) after automatic locking, the vehicle then remains unlocked even at speeds in excess of the threshold. The initial status is re-established by opening a door or by switching circuit 15 on and off again.
If, after automatic locking, a door is opened and closed again, while the vehicle speed is above the threshold speed this door is locked again after it is closed.
NOTE: The automatic locking function can be deactivated or activated by means of:
- diagnosis.
- operating menu in the Instrument cluster (A1).
