Relocking, Function

Relocking, Function

The relocking function prevents the vehicle from remaining unlocked if the remote control key (A8/1) has been unintentionally operated.

After the vehicle is unlocked with the remote control key (A8/1), it starts a waiting time of 40 seconds. After this waiting time has elapsed, the vehicle is locked again unless beforehand
- a door or the trunk lid was opened or
- the emergency opening function was activated or
- the interior CL open switch (S6/5s2) was operated or
- the remote control key was inserted into the key opening in the EIS control module (N73).

These functions are controlled by the pneumatic control module with combined functions (A37) as master.

NOTE:
- If the "Unlock vehicle" button on the remote control key is pressed again before the waiting time has expired, then the waiting time is reset and restarted.
- The automatic relocking function also activates the anti-theft alarm (ATA).
