GF40.15-P-2001R Detecting Seeping Pressure Loss, Function

GF40.15-P-2001R Detecting seeping pressure loss, function
- with CODE (475) Tire pressure monitor

Function
The operating condition "soft warning" (reminder, "yellow" display) is marked by a minimum tire pressure, at which driving safety continues to be guaranteed. The left multifunction display (A1p13) in the instrument cluster (A1) indicates to the driver that the tire inflation pressure should be corrected at the next opportunity. A "soft warning" is triggered if the tire inflation pressure as rated by temperature is > 0.2 bar and < 0.4 bar less than the stored specified pressure.

This takes place for the first time in the next ignition sequence and is displayed for approx. 30 seconds. The driver is therefore requested to check the tire inflation pressures and correct them if necessary and then reactivate the tire pressure monitor (TPM) system.

If the temperature-weighted tire inflation pressure is > 0.4 bar under the stored specified pressure, a "hard warning" ("red" display) follows.

The "hard warning" is only displayed in the same ignition sequence. A "soft warning" is displayed in the next ignition sequence. If the system is not reactivated, the "soft warning" is repeated for approx. 30 seconds each time the engine is started and then goes out again.

The driver is advised to stop and check the condition of the tires immediately. The driver is responsible for deciding whether to continue driving at low speed to the next specialist workshop or whether a repair (fitting the spare wheel or using TIREFIT) is necessary on site.
