Component Identification:

Location
The floats are positioned on the electric controller unit (VGS).

Task
The floats seal the openings between the oil gallery and gear set chamber so that the rotating gear sets do not rotate directly in the oil bath as the oil level increases.

The oil level control reduces any occurrence of power loss and prevents oil from being thrown out of the transmission housing at high oil temperatures.

Function
As the oil level rises the floats seal the transfer ducts between the oil chamber and gear set chamber.
