Function
With an outside temperature T ≤ 5 degrees C, the windshield, at "circuit 61 ON" by the generator (G2), is electrically heated in the area of the retracted wiper blade by the wiper park position heater (R2/10).

If the outside temperature increases to T ≥ 7 degrees C, the wiper park position heater (R2/10) is switched off. The maximum switch-on time to avoid damage to the glass is t = 25 min without any head wind cooling and no precipitation.

Control of wiper park heater (R2/10)
If the switch-on conditions are fulfilled, the driver-side SAM control module (N10/10) controls the wiper park heater relay (K40/2kA) by connecting c. 30 through to the wiper park heater (R2/10).

Data required:
- Outside temperature
The outside temperature display temperature sensor (B14) is read in directly by the driver-side SAM control module (N10/10) to obtain the outside temperature.

- Status of circuit 61 (generator):
The status of circuit 61 is read in by the front passenger SAM control module (N10/11) and relayed via the interior compartment CAN to the driver side SAM control module (N10/10).
