Active Service System (Assyst) Operating Notes (Illustrated)

Resetting ASSYST after oil change (oil change reset) at instrument cluster:


Preliminary Procedures
- Close trunk lid or liftgate as well as engine hood and doors.


Ignition Position:




1. Insert ignition key and switch to ignition position "2" (Make sure automatic transmission is in park position "P" and do not depress the brake pedal or clutch pedal if equipped).

FSS Service Indicator Symbol:




Main Odometer Display:




2. Press and release the trip odometer reset button (-red arrow 1-) 2 times within the first 4 secs of completing step 1. The FSS Service Indicator symbol (-red arrow 2-) is now displayed in the Main Odometer Display (-red arrow A-) along with the present status for days or distance.

3. Switch ignition key to position "0" within 10 secs of completing step 2. The FSS Service Indicator symbol and present status for days or distance continues to be displayed.

New FSS Service Interval:




4. Press and hold trip odometer reset button (-red arrow 1-). While holding the trip odometer reset button (-red arrow 1-), switch ignition key to position "2". The FSS Service Indicator symbol and present status for day or distance displays again. Continue to the trip odometer reset button (red arrow 1-) until an audible beep signal is heard and the mileage "10000 Miles" is displayed in the Main Odometer display (-red arrow 3-).

5. Release the trip odometer reset button. FSS Service is now reset.

6. Release ignition key.
