AR82.10-P-4740P Remove/Install Headlamp Unit Bracket

DANGER:
- Risk of injury from grazing or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts
- Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and untrimmed vehicle parts.
- Deburr metal repairs.
- Risk of Death. High voltage at Xenon headlamps may result in death.
- Do not touch parts carrying high voltages. Persons with electronic implants (e.g. pacemakers) should never work on xenon headlamps.
- Risk of explosion from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury with caustic burns to eyes and skin from battery electrolyte or from handling damaged lead-acid batteries
- No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking.
- Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and goggles. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.


1 Disconnect ground cable of battery
2 Remove headlamp assembly
3 Saw off holder (1, 2 or 3)

NOTE: Position saw cut at the separation points provided (arrow)

4 Clean and deburr sawn edges
5 Unscrew adjusting bushes (4)

NOTE: Transfer height of adjusting bushes (4) from respective holder to new parts.

6 Screw new holder to headlamp unit
7 Install headlamp unit
8 Set size of gap of headlamp unit to body at the adjusting bushes (4)
9 Perform basic programming

NOTE: Only if no quiescent current retention device has been used.

10 Adjust electrical zero position of the headlamp range adjustment

NOTE: If code (612b) xenon headlamps fitted.

11 Check headlamp adjustment

Check and correct headlamp adjustment.

12 Read diagnostic trouble code memory and erase
