AR83.55-P-5300T Remove/Install Refrigerant Compressor

DANGER:
- Risk of explosion from welding or soldering work on closed air conditioning system. Risk of poisoning. Inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors may be toxic. Risk of injury from skin and eye contact with liquid refrigerant.
- Do not carry out any welding work on the closed air conditioning system or in the surrounding area. No smoking or open flames. Wear eye protection and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated areas. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been discharged.


CAUTION: Protect air conditioning circuit and components from moisture when carrying out repair work.

1 Drain air conditioning (recycle)

NOTE:
1. Note suctioned off compressor oil quantity
2. Installation: Evacuate and air conditioning system, and when filling add the noted quantity of new compressor oil to refrigerant circuit Check air conditioning system for leaks.

CAUTION: The refrigerant compressor can be damaged by the addition of too much or too little compressor oil.

DANGER:
- Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant
- Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 degrees C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles.
- Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.


2 Relieve pressure in coolant circuit

NOTE:
1. To do this, carefully open reservoir cover and close again
2. Installation: Check engine coolant level and correct.

3.1 Detach lower engine compartment paneling
3.2 Remove bottom section of soundproofing capsule
4 Detach coolant expansion tank and put aside
5 Remove charge air pipe

NOTE: Only remove charge air pipe on the left side.

6 Remove fan shroud
7 Remove poly V-belt
- Only on model 211.004/006/016
- Only on model 211.061/065/070

8 Disconnect electrical connector (1) from refrigerant compressor (A9)
9 Unscrew screw (3) and place suction line aside

CAUTION: Seal line openings so as to prevent dirt and moisture from penetrating.

NOTE: Installation: Replace O-ring and moisten thread with compressor oil.

- Suction line to refrigerant compressor: 22 N.m
- Set of plugs for air conditioning system

10 Unscrew screw (2) and place pressure line aside

CAUTION: Seal line openings so as to prevent dirt and moisture from penetrating.

NOTE: Installation: Replace O-ring and moisten thread with compressor oil.

- Pressure line to refrigerant compressor: 22 N.m
- Set of plugs for air conditioning system

11 Unscrew bolts (4) on the refrigerant compressor (A9)
- Screw for AC compressor on mount: 20 N.m

12 Remove refrigerant compressor (A9)
- Additional oil filling capacity when replacing refrigerant compressor: 20 cu.cm
- For Refrigerant compressor 7SEU16C

13 Replace receiver/drier
14 Install in the reverse order.
