GF54.30-P-2006T Instrument Cluster Activation, Function
Component Identification:
Activating the instrument cluster (A1)
Due to the Black-Screen technology the instrument cluster details (A1) (e.g. displays, display instruments) are only clearly visible when the instrument cluster (A1) is activated. If the instrument cluster (A1) is activated, the current contents are shown in the displays, the illumination of the instrument cluster (A1) is switched on and the fuel reserve indicator lamp (A1e4) is actuated.
The instrument cluster (A1) is activated by switching on "Circuit 15g". Once "Circuit 15g" is switched off "circuit 15g" the instrument cluster (A1) remains active for a further 30 s, but this period can be extended to 2 minutes in the event of active warnings occurring.
The instrument cluster (A1) is activated under the following conditions with "circuit 15g OFF":
^ By pressing the instrument illumination rheostat and reset button (A1r1) the instrument cluster (A1) is activated for 30 s
^ The instrument cluster (A1) is activated for 30 s by opening or closing the driver's door
^ When the standing lamp or driving lamps are switched on the instrument cluster (A1) remains in operation as long as the standing lamp is switched on
If one of the stated conditions occurs whilst the instrument cluster (A1) is already active, then the instrument cluster (A1) remains activated for a further 30 seconds from this point in time. The instrument cluster (A1) cannot be operated using the buttons of the multifunction steering wheel (MFL).
Networking
The status of the left front door contact switch (S17/3) (on left-hand drive vehicles) or of the right front door contact switch (S17/4) (on right-hand drive vehicles) is read in by the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) and placed on the Controller Area Network bus Class B (interior) (CAN-B) as a Controller Area Network (data bus/CAN bus) message.
The status of the standing lamp "ON/OFF" is placed on CAN B by the driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
