GF82.10-P-3008T Turn Signal Indicator Actuation, Function
GF82.10-P-3008T Turn Signal Indicator Actuation, Function
Component Identification:
Function requirements:
^ Circuit 5R On
^ Combination switch (S4) in "left turn signal indicator" or "right turn signal indicator" position
Function
The steering column module (N80) detects when the combination switch (S4) is in the turn signal position and sends the "left turn signal indicator" signal or "right turn signal indicator" signal via CAN class B to the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) to actuate the turn signal lamps.
The rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) is the main control unit for all turn signal indicator functions and forwards the signals to the corresponding control units.
Left turn signal
The driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) actuates the left turn signal lamp (E1e5).
The left front door control unit (N69/1) actuates the left outside mirror turn signal lamp (E6/5).
The rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) actuates the outer left turn signal lamp (E3e1) and inner left turn signal lamp (E3e7) (model 211.0 only) in the left taillamp (E3).
Right turn signal
The passenger-side SAM control unit (N10/11) actuates the right turn signal lamp (E2e5).
The right front door control unit (N69/2) actuates the right outside mirror turn signal lamp (E6/6).
The rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) actuates the outer right turn signal lamp (E4e1) and inner right turn signal lamp (E4e7) (model 211.0 only) in the right taillamp (E4).
The following indicator lamps are activated for display in the instrument cluster (A1).
^ left turn signal indicator lamp (A1e1)
^ right turn signal indicator lamp (A1e2)
In addition, the audible indicator is activated.
^ Acoustic turn signal indicator (A1h2)
The right turn signal is automatically terminated by resetting when countersteering or by manual reset of the combination switch (S4).
If a turn signal lamp (E1e5, E2e5, E3e1,E3e7, E4e1, E4e7) or a turn signal lamp (E6/5, E6/6) fails, the flashing frequency of the corresponding left turn signal indicator lamp (A1e1) or right turn signal indicator lamp (A1e2) in the instrument cluster (A1) doubles. The flashing frequency remains unchanged.
Turn signal lamp touch control, function sequence
The operational sequence for the turn signal lamp touch control is the same, in relation to the signal flow, as that for the turn signal indicator. The difference lies in the actuation and ending of the turn signal procedure only.
For one-touch turn signaling, the combination switch (S4) must only be operated briefly (for approx. 0.5 ms) into the desired turn signal indicator position. Without the combination switch (S4) engaging into place in the turn signal indicator position, a sequence of three turn-signal cycles is triggered.
One-touch turn signaling is interrupted by activating the hazard warning lamp function or by operating the combination switch (S4) in the opposite direction.
For vehicles with code (550) Trailer hitch, the signal "left turn signal indicator On" or "right turn signal indicator On" is transmitted from the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) to the trailer connection unit [AAG] control unit (N28/1), which applies the signal "left turn signal indicator On" or "right turn signal indicator On" to the trailer hitch socket (13-pin) (X58).
