- Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
- Risk of injury Body parts may become jammed or crushed. Risk of injury Skin and eyes may be injured due to brake fluid spraying out at high pressure when working on the SBC brake system
- Deactivate SBC brake system using STAR DIAGNOSIS.

CAUTION:
- Before opening the SBC system, thoroughly clean the surrounding area of the separation point. Even the smallest particles of dirt, introduced into the hydraulic components, can result in malfunctions and a total failure of the SBC system
- When carrying out service and repair operations on the front-end assembly, always take great care to prevent leaving scratches, notches or fissures in the aluminum components. Otherwise the service life of the parts will be affected
- See notes on self-locking nuts and bolts
- See Special information on AIRmatic.

NOTE: Installation: Tighten nuts and bolts of chassis components only in curb condition.

1 Deactivate SBC brake system using STAR DIAGNOSIS.
2 Empty, fill front suspension strut using STAR DIAGNOSIS
- With Airmatic code (489a)

3 Remove front wheel.
4 Remove front rpm sensors (L6/1, L6/2) from steering knuckle (5) and hang to one side
- Except Airmatic code (489a)

NOTE: For this purpose, unscrew bolt (6a) and unclip electrical feed lines from the retaining clamps.

CAUTION: Installation: Correct installation position must be noted, the chafe protection (5a) must screwed onto the front rpm sensor. It must not be installed between the left or right front rpm sensor (L6/1, L6/2) and the steering knuckle (5)

5 Disconnect brake pad contact sensors (S10/1, S10/2) from connector
- Except Airmatic code (489a)

6 Detach electric feed line (10a) of the front brake pad contact sensors (S10/1, S10/2) from floating brake caliper.

8.2 Disconnect electrical and pneumatic feed lines of front suspension strut and detach suspension strut from front end
- With Airmatic code (489a)

9 Disconnect electrical connectors of front brake pad contact sensors and front rpm
- With Airmatic code (489a)

10 Press the steering tie rod coupling (9a) from the stub axle (5)
11 Detach torque strut (18) from front axle carrier (1)

CAUTION: The bolt (18a) must not be twisted. When loosening the nut it is absolutely essential to counterhold the bolt (18a). Otherwise the locating tabs for caster adjustment in the rubber mount with be sheared off if the repair kit is installed.
