- with CODE (348a) EMERGENCY CALL system
- with CODE (498) Japanese version
MODEL 203, 215, 220
- with CODE (349) E-CALL emergency call system
- with CODE (498) Japanese version
The status indicator in the EMERGENCY CALL system pushbutton switch (S93/3) serves for checking the function of the EMERGENCY CALL system.
Every time the EMERGENCY CALL system is switched on the status indicator comes on for approx. 5 s and signals the readiness of EMERGENCY CALL for an emergency call. Then the status indicator goes out.
If an EMERGENCY CALL is triggered the status indicator starts to flash (0.5 s on, 0.5 s off, ...). If no EMERGENCY CALL could be transmitted, the indicator lamp comes on. If data is transmitted, the status indicator returns to the same status as before the emergency call actuation
When the EMERGENCY CALL system is in the diagnostic mode, the status indicator also starts to flash (1 s on, 1 s off, ...) An EMERGENCY CALL system error is present when the status indicator does not go out 5 s after switching on or when it comes on at a later time.
Permanent illumination of the status indicator can have the following causes:
External error
- Power supply too low
- Communication with the emergency tensioning retractor control module with airbag (AB) (N2/2) interrupted
- Error in EMERGENCY CALL system pushbutton switch (S93/3)
- Error on GPS reception (antenna system)
- Reception via EMERGENCY CALL substitute antenna or Model 129: Rod antenna (A28)
Models 202, 208.3, 210, 220: Telephone antenna (A2/49a1)
Models 203, 215:Telephone antenna (A2/22) interference with code 348a (two control modules: Telephone transmitter/ receiver and emergency call system control module are located in separate positions):
- CTEL transmitter/receiver (A35) E-CALL or connection to control module (A35/8) erroneous
with code 349 (one control module: CTEL transmitter/receiver is integrated in emergency call control module:
- Connection to E-CALL control module (A35/8) erroneous
In models 203, 215, 220 the emergency tensioning retractor control module with airbag (AB, N2/2) is replaced with the restraint system control module (N2/7).
Internal error
- Error during authorization procedure
- Memory defect on E-CALL control module (A35/8)
- Rollover sensor defective
- GPS receiver erroneous
- No registrations when telephone number has been changed
- No connection to CTEL transmitter/receiver
The E-CALL control module (A35/8) can be coded with the hand- held tester so that the status indicator does not come even when the system is not authorized (all other system errors are indicated).
