DANGER: Before working near the roll bar, pull out the rear head restraints by hand. Keep body parts out of the area where the roll bar extends.
Risk of injury
When working in the area of the roll bar, serious injuries can occur due to sudden extension of the roll bar.
In particular the roll bar can be activated unintentionally while performing diagnostic and maintenance work on the control unit (N52) (the rollover sensors are integrated into the N52).
It can also be triggered automatically within 1 h after ignition is switched to "OFF" It is therefore not sufficient to only switch off the ignition.
Safety instructions/precautions
^ Monitor hazard area.
^ Before working in the area of the roll bar, pull out the rear seat head restraints by hand because the roll bars are located under the head restraints themselves. When the roll bar is triggered, the rear seat head restraints extend another 10 cm at a very high speed.
^ Keep body parts out of the area where the roll bar extends.
