GF82.60-P-2002QKA CD-Player Mode, Function
- except CODE (535) Audio 20 CD radio, USA

Once the "CD" submenu in the "Audio" menu has been activated, an audio CD can be played via the integral CD player of the radio (A2) or using the CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6) (with code (819) 6-disk CD changer). The system is operated via the keypad of the radio (A2). The CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6) has a changer magazine for 6 audio CDs, which is loaded centrally via a slot.

Only 12 cm CDs may be loaded into the CD player with changer (in the glove compartment) (A2/6).

The control and useful signals of the CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6) are transmitted via the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST). The signals are processed and amplified by the radio (A2) or the sound amplifier (A2/13) (with code (810) Sound system).

After entering an audio CD into the changer magazine of the CD player with changer (in the glove compartment) (A2/6), the following functions are available to the user:
^ Selection of audio CD
^ Select track
^ "Search forwards" and "Search backwards"
^ Programming function

The following possibilities are available in the menu "Adjustments":
^ Normal track function
^ Repeat track
^ Repeat CD
^ Select track mix

At the end of the CD, the CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6) automatically switches to the mode last set.

Random function
All tracks on an audio CD are played according to the random principle. If all the tracks of a CD have been played once in CD changer mode, the next audio CD is loaded automatically and the random function continues. The random function remains active until it is deactivated.

Repeat function
Alternatively a track, an audio CD or the entire CD magazine is repeated.

Assigning a title to an audio CD
Each audio CD contains a permanently stored table of contents (TOC record). As a result, it is possible, after a one-time user allocation of a title, to identify this CD title automatically, even if the audio CD is inserted into a different magazine. The table of contents (TOC record) additionally contains information regarding the number of tracks on an audio CD and the audio CD's total playing time.

Playback of an audio CD in MP3 format
The designation "MP3" is an abbreviation for MPEG 1 Audio Layer 3 and describes an audio compression standard that permits digital music signals to be compressed to approx. 8 % of the original data quantity. This takes place with almost no audible difference to the original signal (audio CD). In the CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6), it is possible to play conventional audio CDs and also audio CDs in the MP3 format. A conventional audio CD is emulated (simulated).
