Compact Disc Changer (CDC) Magazine Not Ejected or Stuck / Audio CD Skips While Driving

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the Compact Disc Changer (CDC) Magazine not ejecting or stuck inside the changer, or of the audio skipping while driving, this may be due to an incorrect installation position (vertical / horizontal) of the CDC and must be corrected based on the vehicle model list below.

Model 203 / 209 - Horizontal Installation Position Model 215 / 220 / 230 - Vertical Installation Position

Perform a visual inspection of the current installation position by removing the CDC and verifying the position is correct for each model series per the procedure below.

1. Remove the CDC to inspect the installation position. Refer to the applicable WIS document.

2. After removing the CDC, remove all 4 screws from both sides of the CDC and release the bracket from the changer (Figure 1).

3. Check the silver adjustment pin (Figure 2, circle) to correspond to the correct installation position, Vertical (Figure 2, V) or Horizontal (Figure 2, H) according to the vehicle model.

4. To correct the installation position, until from both sides of the changer and remove the cover (Figure 3, circle) and rotate the silver pin (Figure 4, circle) in the direction of the arrow to secure it in the correct vertical or horizontal position.

5. When completed, reinstall the cover, secure the CDC into the bracket and install the CDC.
