Soft top closing sequence (only possible at v < approx. 4 km/ h)
Soft top open
Continue to actuate soft top control button (S84/10) (press). The indicator lamp in the button continues to flashes until the end of the operation.
Stage A
Side windows open to the end position.
Stage B
Soft top compartment lid (3) moves back out of arrest and opens.
Stage C
Soft top (4) folds out, left and right cover (5) fold downward on soft top compartment lid (3).
STAGE D
Soft top (4) folds out to windshield.
Stage E
Soft top (4) closes, rear window (2) folds upward vertically.
Stage F
Soft top compartment lid (3) retracts into compartment, rear window (2) then pivots downward to "moving" position
Stage G
Soft top compartment lid (3) arrests at front in end position. Side windows (1) close (except vehicles as of model year 09 /YoM 0 with code (494) USA version or code (460) Canada version
If the rear window (2) is blocked in the upper area while closing, the closing procedure is interrupted and it opens again slightly. If the switch continues to be actuated, the closing operation is interrupted when the window is blocked, however, the window is no longer opened
Hydraulic cylinder pressure shutoff delay:
The hydraulic cylinders in question remain activated for a short time even after reaching the individual limit switch positions in order to compensate for tolerances in the switching points of the limit switches.
If the rear head restraints are pulled out, they are lowered automatically during soft top actuation.
If the rear head restraint is not moved down completely, the soft top cannot be operated electrically.
Relocking soft top
The soft top is not locked when the indicator lamp in the soft top switch is on. If the soft top is not locked completely, it can be relocked manually.
