GF54.30-P-2013QO Output Acoustic Warning Messages, Function

Acoustic warning function
The acoustic turn signal indicator (A1h2) is integrated within the instrument cluster (A1). This is a contactless relay. The turn signal flasher is always accompanied by an acoustic clicking sound generated in the same rhythm. The acoustic turn signal/flasher (A1h2) function varies according to the type of signal.

Turn signals
The signal to actuate the acoustic turn signal indicator (A1h2) comes via the Controller Area Network Class B bus (interior) (CAN-B) from the column jacket module (N80). If one of the turn signals fails, the acoustic turn signal indicator (A1h2) operates at twice the usual frequency. The instrument cluster (A1) receives via CAN-B the information "Turn signal lamp defective" from the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) which actuates the defective turn signal lamp.

Hazard warning flashers
The signal for actuating the acoustic turn signal indicator (A1h2) comes via CAN-B from the upper control panel control unit (N72/1).

Anti-theft alarm system (EDW) turn signal indicating
The signal to actuate the acoustic turn signal indicator (A1h2) comes from the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) via CAN-B.

Warning signal
The instrument cluster (A1) has the warning buzzer (A1h1) which outputs a warning tone for various operating faults and operating conditions.

A warning tone is output when one of the following factors exists:
^ When a fault or warning message of medium or highest priority occurs. In addition a warning message is displayed in the multifunction display (A1p13).
^ When the seat belt warning lamp (A1e9) lights up. The seat belt warning lamp (A1e9) is not available on all national versions. The signal to actuate the seat belt warning lamp (A1e9) comes from the restraint system control unit (N2/7) via CAN-B.
^ When the brake fluid and parking brake warning lamp (A1e7), if the parking brake is not released when starting off. The signal to actuate the brake fluid and parking brake warning lamp (A1e7) comes from the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) via CAN-B.
^ When the DTR warning lamp (A1e59) lights up. The DTR warning lamp (A1e59) is actuated when the safe distance to the vehicle in front is not maintained. The signal to actuate the DTR warning lamp (A1e59) comes via the Controller Area Network (data bus/CAN-Bus) (CAN-C) from the DTR control unit (N63/1).
^ When the transmitter key (A8/1) is inserted with circuit 15C in the EIS [EZS] control unit (N73) and the driver door is opened. The CAN messages "Ignition key status information" and "ignition OFF" come via CAN-B from the EIS [EZS] control unit (N73), the door contact signal comes from the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
^ When the standing lamps are on, the ignition key (A8/1) is withdrawn and the driver door is open (lights warning). The CAN message "Ignition key status information" comes via CAN-B from the EIS [EZS] control unit (N73), the door contact signal comes from the Rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) and the "Standing lamp" signal comes from the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
^ On vehicles with code (623) Gulf States version when a speed of 120 km/h is exceeded. The warning tone is muted as soon as the speed drops below 117 km/h.
^ If the speed set on the variable speed limiter is exceeded, e.g. through overthrusting. The displayed speed is used. The set maximum speed comes via CAN-C from the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) or from the CDI control unit (N3/9).
^ On model 209.4 when starting off or driving for a maximum of 10 seconds if the soft top is not completely locked. The CAN message comes from the power soft top control unit (N52). No warning message is displayed in the multifunction display (A1p13).
