GF82.30-P-4006Q Wiper System Automatic Speed Reduction, Function
Component Identification:
Function prerequisites:
^ Circuit 15R ON
Function
The automatic speed reduction feature acts on the following functions:
^ Wiping in stage "1" and
^ Wiping in stage "2"
If the vehicle speed drops below
5 km/h, then the front SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/1) switches the wiper motor (M6/1) back one stage. With intermittent wiping, the slowest intermittent wiping stage is selected.
When the value drops below the speed threshold, the system switches to rain sensor mode. In this case, the intermittent pause is controlled by the rain/light sensor (B38/2).
In the event of a defective rain/light sensor (B38/2) the standard switching back one stage (switching down one stage) is carried out.
A wash operation does not cancel a speed downshift.
The front SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/1) receives the vehicle speed signal required to reduce the speed from the instrument cluster (A1) via CAN class B.
Switching back to selected wiper stage
^ If the value of 8 km/h is exceeded at increasing vehicle speed, the front SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/1) automatically switches the wiper motor (M6/1) back to the wiper stage set at the combination switch (S4) (stage "1" or "2").
^ The speed reduction can be reversed manually by pressing the combination switch (S4) again for every desired function. When the vehicle speed decreases below this threshold, he speed reduction feature again becomes active.
