GF80.20-P-4009Q Automatic Locking, Function
GF80.20-P-4009Q Automatic Locking, Function
Component Identification:
Function prerequisites
^ Vehicle speed greater than 15 km/h
^ Automatic locking activated
Operating procedure
The "Automatic locking" function locks the vehicle centrally with the exception of the tank flap as soon as the vehicle speed exceeds a value of approx. 15 km/h.
The EIS control module (N73) recognizes when the speed threshold is exceeded by evaluation of the speed signal on the CAN class B bus. In this case, the EIS control module (N73) sends the "Lock" command via the CAN class B bus to the left door control module (N69/1), right door control module (N69/2) and rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2). These activate locking of the door locks and deactivate the request to open the trunk lid from the exterior trunk lid actuation switch (S88/8).
The vehicle is unlocked immediately when the driver or passenger door is opened, when:
^ the speed is not greater than 15 km/h and
^ the vehicle was locked automatically or with the interior central locking switch.
If the vehicle is unlocked with the interior central locking switch after automatic locking, the vehicle remains unlocked even at speeds above the speed threshold. The initial state is resumed by opening a door or by switching circuit 15 on and off again.
If a door is opened and then closed again after automatic locking while the vehicle speed is higher than the speed threshold, this door is locked again after it is closed.
Activation/Deactivation
^ The instrument cluster (A1) is always activated or deactivated for automatic locking via diagnosis. The set state can only be changed with Star-Diagnosis. In the delivery state, the automatic locking feature is activated.
^ The EIS control module (N73) can be activated or deactivated for automatic locking with the buttons on the multifunction steering wheel and the display in the instrument cluster (A1).In the event of an interruption of the power, the state last set by the vehicle user is set again.
