AR77.37-P-1000QA Remove/Install Soft Top Hydraulic Pump
Remove
DANGER!
- Injury hazard from roll bar extending
- Before working in the area of the roll bar, pull out rear head restraints by hand.
- Risk of injury. Moving parts can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases even sever extremities.
- Keep body parts and limbs well clear of moving parts.
- Risk of injury to skin or eyes from hydraulic fluid spraying out under pressure. Risk of poisoning from swallowing hydraulic fluid.
- Release the pressure in the hydraulic system completely before starting any work on the system. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses.
1 Open trunk lid
2 Remove paneling in trunk
NOTE: Remove only left side wall paneling.
3 Remove, install hydraulic cylinder for soft top compartment cover
NOTE: Lay hydraulic cylinder for soft top compartment cover down to side with leads connected
4 Disconnect plug (7) from hydraulic unit.
NOTE: Work shown without left soft top compartment paneling.
5 Unscrew nut (5) from hydraulic pump bracket (6).
6 Unscrew nut (1) and remove hydraulic pump ground cable (2).
7 Unscrew nut (3) and remove hydraulic pump power supply cable (4).
8 Unscrew screws (8) from connection plate (10)
NOTE: Hydraulic system should be unpressurized
9 Remove hydraulic lines (9) together with connection plate (10)
10 Plug hydraulic line (9) with plug
NOTE: Use plug from brake caliper vent nipple.
11 Remove hydraulic pump (11)
Install
12 Install hydraulic pump (11)
13 Remove plug from hydraulic lines (9)
14 Position hydraulic lines (9) with connection plate (10)
15 Unscrew screws (8) from connection plate (10)
- Screw of connection plate to hydraulic unit = 10 Nm
16 Tighten hydraulic pump bracket (6) with nut (5)
17 Connect plug (7) to hydraulic unit
18 Tighten hydraulic pump ground cable (2) with nut (1)
19 Tighten hydraulic pump power supply cable (4) with nut (3)
20 Install soft top compartment hydraulic cylinder
21 Check oil level of hydraulic system
NOTE: If necessary add oil through oil filler screw.
Oil filler plug - Oil filler screw on hydraulic unit supply reservoir = 2 Nm
22 Sealing and function check
23 Install paneling in trunk
