The Universal Portable CTEL Interface (UHI) system enables telephone calls to be made with the portable CTEL (A34/6) using the hands-free system only. A "private mode" is not possible.

There are several ways for a user to accept a call:
^ By pressing the "Accept call" button on each portable CTEL.
^ By pressing the Accept/terminate phone call button (S111s3) on the multifunction steering wheel (MFL).
^ For code (813) Voice control system (VCS [SBS]) by voice output or by pressing the VCS [SBS] switch (S93/2).
^ By pressing the "Accept phone call" control button on the radio (A2), or on the radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56), or the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3).
