Creating station list
The voice control system (VCS) allows the user to create a list of stations. Frequently selected stations can be stored in the voice control system (VCS [SBS]) control unit (N41/3), together with names that can be selected freely or the proper station name. 15 entries can be stored.
To create or extend the personal stations list while the radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56) or COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) is switched on, the user needs the command: "Store station" after activating the VCS with the VCS [SBS] switch (S93/2) and activating the radio application via the VCS with the command "Radio".
Next, the VCS asks the user: "Please say station name" for this station. When this name has been entered by the user, the VCS asks the user to repeat the name "Please repeat station name". If a different name is given when the name is entered the second time, the VCS voice output requests the user to "Please say again". If the user then enters the first name, the VCS requests the user to repeat the name again. The system stores the station list entry (name and associated station) in the station list only when the associated name and its repetition are identical. The VCS voice output then indicates "Station stored".
Calling up station list entries
The VCS user can use the command "Read list of stations" to have the complete list of stations read out.
In so doing the user can select a specific name and set a new station. Selection is accomplished by actuating the VCS switch.
Selecting station from station list
The VCS user can use the command "Select station" to select a station in the list of stations. After this command, the user is requested by the VCS to "Please say name" for entry of the station name. If the users says a name that is available in the station list, the VCS changes to the desired station after the station name has been repeated.
Deleting individual entries from the station list
The user has the possibility to delete an individual entry from the station list with the command "Delete station". The VCS then asks the user to specify the station name that is to be deleted "Please say station name". After entry of the station name by the user, he/ she is asked, if he/she really wants to delete the name. If the user answers "Yes", the specified station name is deleted from the station list and confirmed by the VCS voice output message "Station deleted". If the user answers "No", the name remains stored.
Any other work spoken by the user terminates dialog with the VCS.
Delete entire station list
The voice control system (VCS) allows the user to store a list of stations. The user has the possibility to delete all entries from the station list using the command "Delete station list". Following the command, the VCS asks "Do you really want to delete the station list?".
If the user answers "Yes", the VCS requests another confirmation for the clear instruction "Are you sure?". If the user answers this question with "Yes", all station list entries are deleted. If the user answers "No", the VCS starts to read the station list entries aloud.
While the station list is been read aloud, the user can select a station to be deleted by activating the VCS switch. The station name selected is then repeated by the VCS. The user is then asked, if he/she really wants to delete the selected station. If the user answers "Yes", the specified station is deleted from the station list. If the user answers "No", the VCS continues to read the station list entries aloud. Any other word terminates dialog with the VCS.
The user can also continue dialog with the VCS at any time using the VCS switch.
