Component Identification:
Function
The automatic air conditioning (AAC) [KLA] is regulated via the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit. This is networked to the vehicle electronics. This in turn makes it possible to incorporate additional relevant parameters in order to improve regulation quality and to lower power consumption.
The AAC [KLA] control and operating unit receives the following information to regulate the automatic air conditioning:
Direct
^ Interior temperature in the knee area from the in-car temperature sensor
^ Temperature on the evaporator from the evaporator temperature sensor
Via CAN-B
^ Ground speed by the instrument cluster
^ Position of the windows by the door control units
^ Circuit status from the EIS [EZS] control unit
^ Interior temperature in head area from the in-car temperature sensor via the overhead control panel control unit
^ Position of tilting/sliding roof from overhead control panel control unit
^ Door status from door contact switches via the rear SAM control unit
^ Outside temperature from the outside temperature display temperature sensor via the driver-side SAM control unit
^ Refrigerant pressure and temperature from the refrigerant pressure and temperature sensor via the driver SAM control unit or refrigerant pressure from the refrigerant pressure sensor via the driver SAM control unit
Via LIN
^ Air humidity by the air humidity sensor
To regulate the automatic air conditioning, the following components are actuated:
Via CAN-B
By the driver-side SAM control unit:
^ Refrigerant compressor
^ Heat exchanger shutoff motor
From passenger-side SAM control unit:
^ Coolant circulation pump
Via CAN-C
From the CDI control unit or the ME-SFI [ME] control unit:
^ Electric suction fan
Via LIN
^ Blower motor via the blower regulator
^ for air distribution the:
- fresh air/air recirculation flaps actuator motor
- left blend air flap actuator motor
- right blend air flap actuator motor
- left and right footwell flaps actuator motor
- left and right defroster flaps actuator motor
- center air outlet flap actuator motor
^ PTC heater booster
