GF82.10-P-3009TX Hazard Warning Flasher Actuation Function
Component Identification:
Function requirements
^ Circuit 30
Function
The upper control panel control unit detects the request from the hazard warning system switch and over CAN-B sends the "Hazard warning flasher On" signal to the rear SAM control unit The rear SAM control unit is the master control unit for the hazard warning flasher function and forwards the signal via CAN-B to the corresponding control units.
^ The driver-side SAM control unit actuates the turn signal lamp in the left front lamp unit (E1).
^ The front passenger-side SAM control unit actuates the turn signal lamp in the right front lamp unit (E2).
^ The left front door control unit actuates the left outside mirror turn signal lamp.
^ The right front door control unit actuates the right outside mirror turn signal lamp.
^ The rear SAM control unit directly actuates the turn signal lamps in the left taillamp (E3) and the turn signal lamps in the right taillamp (E4).
The instrument cluster visually and acoustically signals the hazard warning flasher procedure by actuating the indicator lamps as well as the turn signal indicator.
The indicator lamp in the hazard warning system switch only flashes when the "Hazard warning flasher active" signal is sent from the rear SAM control unit to the upper control panel control unit.
The hazard warning flasher function is interrupted by direction indicating. The hazard warning flasher function is switched off by operating the hazard warning system switch in the upper control panel control unit.
The flashing frequency is 1.5 Hz. The flashing cycle is distinguished by "circuit 15R ON", 52 to 48 % (ON to OFF) and by "circuit 30 ON", 35 to 65 % (ON to OFF).
Hazard warning flashing by crash signal
In the event of an airbag deployment (acceleration > 4 g) the restraint systems control unit (N2/7) sends the "Crash" signal via CAN-B to the rear SAM control unit. This activates the hazard warning flasher function. The hazard warning flasher function is switched off by operating the hazard warning system switch in the upper control panel control unit.
