The brake light switch is installed at the brake pedal.

Task
The stop lamp switch sends a signal to the ESP control unit (N47-5) when the brake is applied.

Mechanically-operated switch with a normally-open contact (S).

Function
The stop lamp switch is supplied with voltage circuit 30 via the driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1). When the brake pedal is depressed, the stop lamp switch closes the circuit and the ESP control unit receives the signal in which the driver's braking requirements are transmitted.
