MODEL 219.3 up to 31.5.06
except CODE (494) USA version
MODEL 219.3 up to 30.6.06
with CODE (494) USA version

Component Identification:

The stop lamp switch (S9/1) is mounted on the brake pedal.

Task
When the brake is pressed the stop lamp switch gives a signal to the SBC control unit (A7/3n1).

Body
Mechanically-operated switch with a normally-open contact (S).

Function
The stop lamp switch is supplied with voltage circuit 30 via the driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1). When the brake pedal is pressed, the stop lamp switch closes the circuit and the SBC control unit receives the signal via the driver's braking requirements. From the signals of the SBC pedal value sensor (B37/1), the front axle pre-pressure sensor (A7/3b1) and stop lamp switch the SBC control unit (A7/3n1) forms the stop light signal (circuit 54).

The SBC control unit conveys this signal via the SBC CAN to the ESP control unit (N47-5) and via the engine compartment CAN as information to other control units for further processing.

The stop lamp switch is actuated via the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) which receives the stop light signal from the SBC control unit via a discrete line.
