- When a door is opened

Function requirements
^ Night signal from rain/light sensor
^ Door contact ON and OFF switch in ON position.
Function
The opening of one of the doors is detected by the rear SAM control unit via the relevant door contact switch and the overhead control panel is notified thereof via the CAN-B.
Footwell lighting
When one of the doors is opened, the overhead control panel transmits an appropriate switch-on request to the driver-side SAM control unit via CAN-B, which switches on the relevant footwell lamp.
When the door is opened, the relevant footwell lamp is switched off after 5 min by the overhead control panel.
The operating time is extended or restarted if a status change occurs at a door contact switch for longer than 3 seconds or the vehicle is locked or unlocked using the transmitter key (A8/1).
When the vehicle door is closed, the relevant footwell lamp is switched off.
Entry and exit illumination and warning lights
When one of the doors is opened, the overhead control panel transmits an appropriate switch-on request to the relevant door control unit via CAN-B, which switches on the relevant entry/exit lamp and warning lamp (undimmed).
If the door is opened, the relevant entry/exit lamp and warning lamp is switched off after 5 min by the overhead control panel. The operating time is extended or restarted if a status change occurs at a door contact switch or the vehicle is locked or unlocked using the transmitter key (A8/1).
When the vehicle door is closed, the relevant entry/exit lamp and warning lamp is switched off undimmed.
Dome lamp
When the front driver or passenger door is opened, the front dome lamp is switched on (dimmed) and when one of the rear doors is opened, the rear dome lamp is switched on (dimmed).
The dimmed lights are switched off under the following conditions:
^ circuit 15 on after the last door was closed or 30 seconds after the last door was opened, or with
^ circuit 15 off 8 seconds after the last door was closed or 5 minutes after the last door was opened.
