GF46.50-P-0001TX Speed-Sensitive Power Steering (SPS), Function
GF46.50-P-0001TX Speed-sensitive power steering (SPS), function
Component Identification:
The speed-sensitive power steering (SPS) gradually increases the manual effort required to turn the steering wheel from when the vehicle is stationary up to a speed of approximately 100 km/h. When stationary, the steering assistance is similar to that of the hydraulic power steering (without SPS function).
The vehicle speed serves as a parameter which, using the electronics, adapts the hydraulic feedback to the respective requirement via the SPS [PML] solenoid valve in the speed range of 0 to approx. 100 km/h. The electronic control is integrated in the ESP control unit.
