Wiper start suppression function
The wipe cycle is suppressed, if the driver or front passenger door is opened at a speed of less than 3 km/h. The status of the door contact switches is read in by the rear SAM control unit and transmitted via CAN-B to the driver-side SAM control unit.
The wipers resume operation after suppression if:
^ Selector lever in position "D" or "R" or clutch operated and driver or front passenger door closed or
^ speed over 3 km/h or
^ continuous wiping activated.
With transmission 722.6, the selector lever position is transmitted to the central gateway control unit by the electronic selector lever module control unit (N15/5), with transmission 722.9 by the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) control unit (Y3/8n4), or with transmission 716 with code (424) Sequentronic automated manual transmission (SEQ) by the automated manual transmission control unit (N15/6).
With transmission 716 without code (424) Sequentronic automated manual transmission (SEQ) the operation of the clutch is registered by the clutch pedal switch (S40/3) and transmitted to the central gateway control unit via the CDI control unit (N3/9) (with diesel engine) or the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) (with gasoline engine).
