Function
The washing function is activated via the following operation:
^ Turn 2nd ring on combination switch upwards beyond position "I" and hold or
^ turn 2nd ring on combination switch downwards beyond position "0" and hold

The request for washing the rear window is transmitted by the steering column module via CAN-B to the driver-side SAM control unit. The driver-side SAM control unit actuates the rear-end door washer pump discretely for the duration of the actuation. The rear door control unit receives the wash request via CAN-B by the steering column module and actuates the tailgate wiper motor for the duration of the actuation.

The rear-end door washer pump is actuated by the driver-side SAM control unit until the washer function on the combination switch is actuated, however for a max. of 10 s. Actuating the washer function of the combination switch again restarts the time period.
