Windshield Washer Pump: Service and Repair
AR82.35-P-6002TA Remove/Install Windshield Washer System Pump
Shown For Equipment With Code (600a) Headlamp Cleaning System Or Code (614) Bi-xenon Headlamp Unit:
1 Disconnect ground cable of battery
DANGER:
- Risk of death. Death may result if vehicle slips or topples from the lifting platform.
- Align vehicle between the columns of the hydraulic hoist and position the four support plates below the hoist support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
2 Lift vehicle on lifting platform.
3 Remove right front wheel
- Wheel bolt:130 N.m
4 Remove rear fender liner in right front fender
5 Disconnect electrical connectors (1)
6 Disconnect electrical connector (2) on HCS pump (M5/2)
7 Disconnect the washer fluid hose from the windshield washer fluid pump (M5/1)
- Only applies where the windshield washer fluid pump (M5/1) is removed.
NOTE: Collect washer fluid which flows out.
8 Disconnect the washer fluid hose from the rear-end door washer fluid pump (M5/3)
- Only applies where the rear-end door washer fluid pump (M5/3) is removed.
NOTE: Collect washer fluid which flows out.
9 Disconnect electrical connector (8) from washer fluid reservoir (6)
NOTE: To do so unlock the retainer tab on the electrical connector (8) and remove the electrical connector (8) downwards from the washer fluid reservoir (6)
10 Unclip bracket (5) from washer fluid reservoir (6)
11 Use a mounting wedge to push off the windshield washer fluid pump (M5/1) from the washer fluid reservoir (6)
- Only applies where the windshield washer fluid pump (M5/1) is removed.

NOTE:
- Note correct installation position.
- Installation:Replace gasket (7)
12 Use a mounting wedge to push off the rear-end door washer fluid pump (M5/3) from the washer fluid reservoir (6)
- Only applies where the rear-end door washer fluid pump (M5/3) is removed.

NOTE:
- Note correct installation position.
- Installation: Replace gasket (7)
13 Install in the reverse order
14 Fill washer fluid reservoir (6)
15 Perform function check on windshield washer system
NOTE: Switch on the ignition and press the combination switch to check the function of the windshield washer fluid pump (M5/1). A sufficient quantity of washer fluid must exit at the washer nozzles.
16 Perform function check on rear washer system
NOTE: Press the rear wiper switch to check the function of the rear-end door washer fluid pump (M5/3). A sufficient quantity of washer fluid must exit at the washer nozzles.
Special Tools
