Assembling and attaching transmission cover Automatic transmission fluids (ATF, Specification 236.10)

























1. Clean sealing surfaces of transmission cover (15) and rear section of transmission housing. The sealing surface must be free of oil and grease.
2 Use suitable tool to press ball bearing (15d) into transmission cover (15). Owing to the minimal overlap the ball bearing (15d) is easy to mount.





3. Insert rear axle drive output shaft (13) into transmission cover.
4. Coat circumference of new O-ring (13a) with Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF).
5. Insert O-ring (13a).
6. Mount circlip (15c).

The circlip (15c) must be mounted without the oil hole (arrow) concealed.





7. Coat lip of new radial sealing ring with Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF).
8. Press radial sealing ring into transmission cover (15) using drift (033).





9. Apply sealing compound to the sealing surface on the rear section of the transmission housing (16b).
10 Fit transmission cover (15).
