GF82.70-P-2008RB Setting Up/Ending Telephone Call, Function
- with CODE (386) Preinstallation for telephone "Handy", UPCI system
- with CODE (388) Telephone "Handy", UPCI system

Placing a call
Function prerequisites:
^ Enabled Subscriber identification module (SIM) card
^ Correct personal identification number (PIN) entry and successful log-in
^ Active Media Oriented System Transport (MOST)

With the Universal Portable CTEL Interface (UPCI) system, all calls are made using the respective portable CTEL (A34/6) solely via the hands-free system.

The user can set up a telephone call in one of the following ways:
^ Dialing using the respective portable CTEL (A34/6).
The desired phone number is entered using the telephone buttons or by selecting a phone number from the phone book of the respective portable CTEL (A34/6). If the "Accept call" button on the respective portable CTEL (A34/6) is pressed, the telephone call is established.
^ Select over the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3).
The numeric buttons in the control panel are used to enter the desired phone number or to select a phone number from different alphabetically sorted lists (e.g. missed calls, dialed phone numbers, accepted calls or own address book) by scrolling back and forth in the "Telephone" menu. If the "Accept call" button is pressed subsequently, the telephone call is established.

^ Selection over the multifunction steering wheel (MFL).
The scroll forward/back button (S110s1) and the system selection button (S110s3) can be used to select a name (with attendant stored telephone numbers) from the telephone book, which appears in the left multifunction display (A1p13) and in the right multifunction display (A1p15) of the instrument cluster (A1). If the Accept/terminate phone call button (S111s3) is pressed subsequently, the telephone call is established.

Muting of radio, CD, navigation component or any component connected to the AUX jack
If one of the audio sources of the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) is active at the start of a telephone call, it is muted.

Toggling
Users can switch back and forth (toggle) between 2 telephone calls. The menu selection of the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) can be operated by the user to switch between the two telephone calls. While a user talks to one person on the line, the connection to the other is put on hold. However, voice transmission is interrupted.

A conference call, i.e. simultaneous communication with several callers is possible.

Terminating a call
The user can choose one of the following to end a call:
^ On the respective portable CTEL (A34/6) by pressing the "Terminate call" button
^ Pressing the Accept/terminate phone call button (S111s3) on the MFL
^ Pressing the "End telephone call" control button in the control panel of the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3)
