Body - Rattling/Cracking Noises From Trunk/Storage Area

Noises Located Behind Rear Storage Compartment or Trunk

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of cracking, rattling or vibration noises emanating from behind the rear storage compartment or trunk, this may be due to the settling of square nuts securing the fuel tank cover to the trunk. To resolve perform the following.

1. Remove middle (WIS document AR68.30-P-4810R) and side (WIS document AR68.30-P-4800R) paneling in the trunk
2. Tighten (to 10Nm) all the bolts attaching the fuel tank cover to the cross member and longitudinal member area in the trunk (Figure 1).





3. Reinstall middle (WIS document AR68.30-P-4810R) and side (WIS document AR68.30-P-4800R) paneling in the trunk.

NOTE: The following allowable labor operations should be used when submitting a warranty claim for this repair
