Multifunction Sensor Function
GF83.10-P-2135-02R Multifunction Sensor Function
- with CODE (581) Automatic air conditioning
Function
The AAC multifunction sensor (B31/1) records the , humidity ambient temperature and the pollutant concentrations in the outside air of carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen oxide (NOX). The first two values are used to calculate the dew point and sends these values along with the others via the air-conditioner's databus to the AAC pushbutton control module (N22).
The AAC multifunction sensor (B31/1) operates in the following value ranges:
^ Relative humidity of inducted air from 0 to 100 %
^ Temperature of inducted air from -40 to +85 °C
^ Dew point temperature from -40 to +85 °C
^ CO level between 0 and 200 ppm
^ NOx level between 0 and 200 ppm
Using the AAC multifunction sensor (B31/1) enables an economic regulation of the refrigerant compressor (A9) depending on the air humidity and improvements in air distribution duct with regard to defogging to be performed.
Automatic recirculation circuit through the AAC multifunction sensor (B31/1)
Requirements:
^ Outside temperature > 7 °C=
^ Refrigeration cycle operation (AC OFF LED does not illuminate)
^ After recognizing circuit 15, a period of at least 120 s must elapse before the multifunction sensor reaches its operating temperature (heating-up time)
^ Vario roof closed
If the pollutant concentration outside of the vehicle, which is detected by the AAC multifunction sensor (B31/1) and is actually present, is higher than an assumed, mean interior air quality, a signal is transmitted over the AC databus to the pushbutton control module to switch the system to 100 % recirculated air. As soon as the existing pollutant concentration outside the vehicle once again lies below the assumed, mean interior air quality, the system is run with fresh air again (exceptions: recirculated air set manually; recirculated air set automatically because of high ambient temperature).
