GF54.30-P-3039-02R Instrument Cluster (IC), Task

The instrument cluster (A1) displays the dynamic and static status of the vehicle.

Tasks
^ Actuation of stepper motors
^ Output via left multifunction display (A1p13)
^ Output via right multifunction display (A1p15)
^ Actuation of signal lamps
^ Gong/warning tone functionality for parking brake warning, light warning, key warning, Vario roof warning, and vehicle speed warning (Gulf States only)
^ Warning tone functionality for seat belt reminder warning (USA, Canada, Japan only)
^ Warning tone functionality for Distronic (DTR) (code 219a)
^ Configurations can also be set while driving with the exception of:
- Switching daytime running lamps on/off

^ Display brightness adjustment:
- If the automatic light switch daylight sensor (B32/1) detects "day", 2 phototransistors control the display brightness.
- If the automatic light switch daylight sensor (B32/1) detects "night", the phototransistors and controller presetting are used to determine the display brightness.

^ Adjusting the brightness of scale, needle and symbol lighting:
- If the automatic light switch daylight sensor (B32/1) detects "day", the brightness is set to 100% and cannot be adjusted.
- If the automatic light switch daylight sensor (B32/1) detects "night", the brightness can be adjusted as required using the controller.

^ Input/output signals on interior CAN and engine compartment CAN
^ Network management components

If the "SBC Hold" or "SBC Stop" function was active before ignition "OFF", the instrument cluster (A1) automatically actuates the warning messages.
