Flow Noise from Fuel Tank at Engine Idle Speed and/or Fuel Splashing Noise
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles concerning a loud flow noise from the fuel tank at engine idle speed and/or fuel splashing due to overflowing fuel, the cause may be due to a faulty pressure sensor that actuates the fuel pump at idle with full on-board voltage.
To resolve, check the voltage at the fuel pump connections at idle speed (specified value of 5 to 8 volts). If the voltage exceeds the specified value, replace the pressure sensor (Figure 1).
