GF46.15-P-3005R Driving Position Adjustment, Function
GF46.15-P-3005R Driving position adjustment, function
- up to model year 08
Function prerequisites:
The position of the steering column, driver seat and outside mirrors are automatically adjusted to the set driving position if the following changes in status occur:
^ No circuit after 15c (driver's door closed)
^ Circuit 15c after circuit 15R (driver's door closed)
^ Circuit 15R after circuit 15 (driver's door closed)
^ Driver's door open after driver's door closed (with ignition key at circuit 15)
Function
After the driver gets into the car, the driver's seat, steering column and mirrors are automatically adjusted to the last set driving position. The last set driving position depends on the current memory block number.
The memory block number denotes the key-specific data record entered in the DI control module (N73).
This process is controlled by the left front seat adjustment control module with memory (N32/1) on the driver's side. Adjustment to the set driving position is triggered by the ignition key position and door contact.
Abort conditions
All abort conditions are monitored by the left front seat adjustment control module with memory (N32/1). For all abort conditions, adjustment to the driving position is not reactivated if the input signal that initially triggered the abort, resumes its output value again. Only when the activation conditions are satisfied again is adjustment to the driving position reactivated. Adjustment to the driving position is aborted if the driver operates the following switches:
^ Steering column adjustment raise/lower, forward/back switch (S59/1s1)
^ Memory position 1 switch (S91/2s6)
^ Memory position 2 switch (S91/2s7)
^ Memory position 3 switch (S91/2s8)
^ Memory switch (S91/2s9)
^ Left rear compartment access switch (S137) and therefore overrides the function key.
If the driver interrupts adjustment to the driving position, this interruption is reset by the following changes in status:
^ Circuit 15C after no circuit
^ Circuit 15 after circuit 15R
Abort due to contrary state transitions
Adjustment to the driving position is aborted by the left front seat adjustment control module with memory (N32/1) when the following ignition key position and door contact state transitions, which are contrary to the activation conditions, occur:
^ Circuit 15 after circuit 15R
^ Circuit 15R after circuit 15c
^ Circuit 15C after no circuit
^ Driver's door open after driver's door closed with circuit 15 OFF
Repeat limiter
Alternately inserting and removing the ignition key causes repeated back and forth movement between the easy entry/exit and driving positions (with door open: steering column only; with door closed: seat and steering column). To prevent this, the number of cycles is limited to 5. The counter is reset if:
^ The ignition key is turned to circuit 15R, or
^ the status of the driver's door changes.
