AN82.70-P-0002-01RR Retrofit Fiber Optic Wiring Harness
- with CODE (810) Sound system
- except CODE (819) 6-disk CD changer
Illustrated with special equipment sound amplifier (A2/13)
Component sequence before installation:
^ Radio (A2) or COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3)
^ Sound amplifier (A2/13)
^ Radio (A2) or COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3)
Component Identification:
1 Remove white (ws) insert of present (M2) fiber optical cable module from sound amplifier connector (A2/13) and insert into a new connector housing. This is now the (M3) fiber optical cable module.
2 Insert a new (M2) fiber optical cable module with red (rt) insert into new connector housing and lock housing
The (M2) fiber optical cable module must be long enough to connect the sound amplifier (A2/13) with the telephone interface (A34/4). Observe special routing guidelines for fiber optic cables.
3 Connect locked new connector to telephone interface (A34/4).
4 Insert white (ws) insert of new (M2) fiber optical cable module into old connector on sound amplifier (A2/13) and lock.
5 Route fiber optic cable along present leads while observing special routing guidelines and fasten with adhesive felt.
Component sequence following installation (must be observed):
^ Radio (A2) or COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3)
^ Sound amplifier (A2/13)
^ CTEL interface (A34/4)
^ Radio (A2) or COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3)
Component Identification:
6 Route fiber optic cable modules (M1, M2 and M3) in vehicle as shown in figure and ligature fiber optic cable modules (M1, M2) beginning at sound amplifier connector housing (A2/13) according to dimensions using insulating tape.
Insulation must end 50 mm in front of the connector housing. The fiber optic cable modules (M1, M2) should be routed below the control unit carrier (arrow).
7 Connect connector housing to sound amplifier (A2/13).
