On the axis of the mirror up/down adjustment motors (M21/1m1 and M21/2m1) and on the axis of the mirror in/out adjustment motors (M21/1m2 and M21/2m2) of the left electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/1) and of the right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/2) is located one potentiometer each for detecting the position.

In the left electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/1) is located
^ the mirror up/down adjustment potentiometer (M21/1r2) and
^ the mirror in/out adjustment potentiometer (M21/1r3).

In the right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/2) is located
^ the mirror up/down adjustment potentiometer (M21/2r2) and
^ the mirror in/out adjustment potentiometer (M21/2r3).

The voltage which exists at the center tap of the potentiometers is dependent on the relevant position of the mirror lens. It is read in by the left door control module (N69/1) and by the right door control module (N69/2) and analyzed there for measuring the position.
