GF82.60-P-2002RJ CD-Player Mode, Function
- with CODE (498) Japan version

The COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) is equipped with an integrated Digital Versatile Disk (DVD) ROM disk drive, with which navigation DVDs and audio CDs can be played.

CD changer mode
The CD player with changer (A2/6) is controlled by the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3). The control and audio signals from the CD player with changer (A2/6) are transmitted via the Digital Data Bus (D2B). Audio signals are sent over the D2B to the sound amplifier (A2/13) (model 230.467 with Code (810) Sound system), before being output via the vehicle speakers.

In the CD player with changer (A2/6), only audio CDs with the appropriate file format can be used.

The following functions are available in combination with the CD player with changer (A2/6):
^ "Scan" function
The tracks on a CD or the 1st track of each CD in the magazine are played for t = 8 s. After this has been run through completely, the scan function is automatically terminated.
^ "Random" function
All the titles on a CD or the entire CD magazine are played in accordance with the random principle.
^ "Repeat" function
Alternatively a title, a CD or the entire CD magazine is repeated.
^ Fast forward or reverse (music search)
Music is audible during fast forward or reverse.

CD title allocation, function
Each CD includes a permanently stored table of contents (TOC record). As a result, the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) recognizes the particular CD and is able to automatically name it after the one-time user allocation of the title (even if the CD is subsequently inserted in another CD magazine). The TOC entry also contains information on the number of tracks on a CD and the CD's total playing time.

If the vehicle is equipped with the sound amplifier (A2/13) (model 230.467 with Code (810) Sound system), then the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) has to be accordingly coded using STAR DIAGNOSIS. Otherwise, faults occur with the reproduction of audio signals.

Navigation is not possible when an audio CD is being played.
