Component Identification:

The load assist allows free access to the trunk when the Vario roof is put down and locked in the trunk.

Function prerequisites:
^ Trunk lid lock rotary catch and locking pawl open
^ Vario roof put down in locked-end position
^ Crash actuation not active
^ Roll bar control switch (N72s17) not actuated
^ Luggage compartment separation closed
^ Trunk lid opened

If the roll bar is in an intermediate position, it is put up for the load assist function.
When the Vario roof is up, two mechanical brackets on the left and right on the 7 articulated trunk lid hinges prevent the trunk lid from closing.

Raising and lowering load assist
^ By actuating load assist switch (S114).

If the load assist is in an intermediate position, actuation of the load assist switch(S114) always actuates in the direction of motion opposite the last actuation.

Function interruption:
^ If the trunk partition opens and closes again while raising the load assist the upward motion is interrupted immediately.
^ If the trunk partition is opened while putting down the load assist, the load assist is moved upward immediately.
^ If trunk lid closing is recognized while the load assist is being lifted or lowered, the load assist is terminated immediately.
