Function requirements:
- Circuit 15C Off
- Driver door closed

Activate anti-theft alarm system (ATA)
The anti-theft alarm system (ATA) is activated by locking the vehicle with the transmitter key (A8/1) or by using the relocking function.

The EIS control module (N73) relays the corresponding signal via the controller area network bus, class B (interior compartment) to the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2), which activates all alarm inputs of the anti-theft alarm system (ATA).

Self- activation (only Japan):
If the driver door is opened or closed after removing the transmitter key (A8/1), the anti-theft alarm is activated automatically 2 minutes after the last door is closed, regardless of the locking status of the vehicle.

Feedback after successful activation
- The LED in the TS/IMS switch with ATA function indicator (N72/1s7) (up to 23.4.04) or TS OFF switch and ATA function indicator (N72/1s27) (as of 24.4.04) comes on.
- The alarm signal horn with additional battery (H3/1) is actuated momentarily three times (buzzing sound) (only United States of America as of 1.6.06 and Netherlands).

Activate anti-theft alarm system (ATA) without tow-away protection (TS). (as of 1.6.06 not with United States of America and Japan)

Conditions of operation
- Circuit 15 Off (Status circuit 15C or circuit 15R not relevant)
- anti-theft alarm system (ATA) not yet activated

Function
Momentarily actuate TS/IMS switch with ATA function indicator (N72/1s7) (up to 23.4.04) or TS OFF switch and ATA function indicator (N72/1s27) (as of 24.4.04). The integrated LED is illuminated as acknowledgment signal for 2 s (steady light). Then activate anti-theft alarm system (ATA).

Activate anti-theft alarm system (ATA) without interior protection (IMS) (with code (882) Interior monitoring (with ATA only))

Function requirements:
- Circuit 15 OFF (Status circuit 15C or circuit 15R not relevant)
- anti-theft alarm system (ATA) not yet activated

Function
Momentarily actuate TS/IMS switch with ATA function indicator (N72/1s7) (up to 23.4.04) or TS OFF switch (N72/1s19) (as of 24.4.04). The LED in the TS/IMS switch with ATA function indicator (N72/1s7) or TS OFF and ATA function indicator (N72/1s27) comes on for 2 s (turn signal lamp) as acknowledgment signal. Then activate anti-theft alarm system (ATA).

Notes on interior protection (IRS) (with code (882) Interior monitoring (with ATA only))
The interior protection (IRS) is activated 30 s after the last door, trunk or rear door is closed. Then engine hood can be open The status of the interior protection transmitter and receiver (A26/14) (model 203.0/2) and the left interior protection transmitter and receiver (A26/4) (model 203.7) is checked by the overhead control panel control module (N70). The alarm input is permitted only when the status check replies "OK".

Notes on tow-away protection (TS) (as of 1.6.06 not with United States of America and Japan)
The tow-away protection is activated approx. 10 s after the anti-theft alarm system (ATA) is activated.If one or more doors or the trunk lid are open, the ATA inclination sensor (B33) is activated after the last door, the trunk lid or the engine hood is closed.
